Description

These spoons are designed for those first stages of weaning.  The bowl is small enough to fit into a baby mouth; while the handle is sized for a baby fist, it is also a good length for sneaking in those extra “helicopter” loads.  These spoons are robust enough to be used for bashing and banging too, and will cope with multiple journeys to the floor and back.

Once your baby is older, this spoon will still have a use in family life – it’ll spoon yoghurt and stir drinks, and grow up as your baby does.

Of course, the other real benefit of using a wooden spoon is the chance to reduce the amount of plastic in both your life, and the life of your family.

Wood care instructions

USE – WASH – REPEAT

All my wooden utensils are made to be used on a daily basis.  They can be hand-washed with detergent and hot water, just like any other kitchen utensil, but they will not appreciate being left soaking for long periods in water.  And they must not be put in a dishwasher.

Over time, with use, your wooden utensil will build up a patina that is unique to you, and your usage.  Part of the beauty of wooden ware is observing this change over time.

All the utensils are sealed with linseed oil, and in some cases there might be a slight taste or feel of oil during the first few uses.  This will pass with normal washing.
